Another day, another runway show for Gigi Hadid. On Sept. 13, 2017, she helped close out New York Fashion Week by walking in Marc Jacobs’ Spring 2018 Collection. The pieces in this collection are dramatic and tropical, but we all know Hadid is no stranger to daring fashion choices.
The 22-year-old supermodel uses her Instagram as a platform to show off some of her most inspiring outfits, and her most recent look did not disappoint. In 2017, she seems to have taken some high-fashion twists on sportswear, suits, and denim.
Let’s take a look at some of the trends that Hadid deemed worthy of showing off to her 35.7 million followers in the past year.
1. This orange flowered suit
Hadid rocked this look at the Harper’s Bazaar Celebration of ICONS by Carine Roitfeld in New York City, and we couldn’t be more in awe. Hadid manages to look absolutely irresistible in this Dolce & Gabbana orange and floral suit, which is not a particularly easy feat for just anyone.
This suit is from the brand’s fall 2017 line, and it’s definitely sparked some excitement for fall fashion. We love that she opted to wear her hair slightly tousled, which gave her that much more “cool girl” appeal.
2. A black-and-white graphic set
It may have been the dead of summer, but that didn’t stop Hadid from stepping out in this suit by Victoria Beckham in July. The black graphics add a funky touch to the white canvas, and if anyone can pull it off, it’s Hadid.
She makes it feel casual by rolling up the sleeves and leaving some buttons open for a peep of abs. By finishing off the look with a mini white handbag, cat-eye sunglasses, and sleek updo, she looks totally polished.
3. These pieces from the Olsen sisters’ collection
Did Hadid just become an honorary Olsen sister? If you’re wondering why she looks like she belongs in the family, it’s because she’s actually wearing a floor-length dress and jacket set from Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen’s collection, The Row.
Hadid, along with her actual sister, Bella Hadid, attended the 2017 CFDA Awards in this monochromatic look. Though her hair and makeup are definitely emphasizing her natural beauty, she adds some sparkle with her choker and Stuart Weitzman shoes.
4. This homage to the ‘70s
Hadid looks nothing short of groovy in these metallic pink bell-bottom pants. With a moto jacket and heels to match, we’re pretty sure her 2017 trend is multi-piece sets (which we are totally on board with).
Her sunnies, however, are the most important piece, considering she sported this look to the launch party of her line for Vogue Eyewear. As a Vogue Eyewear ambassador, she’s been using Instagram to promote the brand using the hashtag #showyourvogue.
5. Black and red street style
Since Hadid has collaborated with Reebok, she’s taken to Instagram to show some of her go-to ways to style the classic sneaker line. While she sticks with cropped pants and a crop top (a look she has continued sporting this year) in black, she makes a bold choice to match a red sweater tied around her neck with her bright sunglasses.
Making the look just a little more preppy, she finishes the outfit with a trendy half-up bun and silver hoops.
6. This Paris Fashion Week look
Before we get into this look, can we just take a moment to appreciate how cute Hadid and her beau, Zayn Malik, are together? This photo was taken after Malik flew to Paris to surprise Hadid at her hotel during Paris Fashion Week in March 2017.
We’re sure he kept her close the whole time he was there, considering how stunning she looks in this drapey, asymmetrical shirt dress. She accents it perfectly with a larger-than-life belt cinching her at the waist, over-the-knee boots, and big hoop earrings.
As feminine as this ensemble is, her dress almost has a menswear vibe to it. In July 2017, Hadid and Malik posed for the cover of Vogue together, in which they proved they “don’t see fashion as gendered.”
7. A foxy jacket
Hadid started off 2017 strong in January, with this jacket that makes her look seriously foxy. She knew exactly how to style it, with just a simple pair of jeans and a white top and sneaker combo. However, what really made this ensemble work was her long, flowy hair and sunnies, giving off some throwback vibes.
Though her street style is typically pushing the fashion envelope, this is a look that you could probably try to recreate this fall.
